Wynne Williams
(Pop)
Co-FounderViget Labs
Wynne Williams co-founded Viget Labs with his sons Brian and Andy in 1999. Pop, as he was known around the Lab, was a true technical innovator who began sharing his love of computers and software development with his friends and family in the early 80’s. Long before Viget Labs was formally incorporated, Pop named the company by selecting the word “Viget” from his class ring and adding “Labs” to signify a commitment to innovation. Pop was a 1969 graduate of Princeton University and served in the U.S. Navy before enjoying a long career as a pilot for United Airlines.
Committed to community involvement and the mentorship of young people, Pop dedicated his springs to coaching the South Lakes High School lacrosse team near his home in Reston, VA, where he was the school’s longest-tenured coach in any sport. Though he passed away suddenly on May 4, 2003, the memory of Pop’s dry wit, love of problem solving, and intense dedication to Viget Labs’ long-term success remain an inspiration to this day.
