So far, May has been busy balancing lots of deadlines, but we managed to write a few blog posts in the midst of our client work.

A big aspect of what we do here is work on finding the right folks to join Viget.  Emily describes how she finds balance in recruiting; particularly in distinguishing personality and professionalism in the cover letters, resumes, and portfolios we receive.  She encourages, "Be confident, but above all, be real."  Great advice.

Want more advice and insights?  We've got 'em in our blogs this week.

VigetInspire (Design)

Doug helped Viget.com find balance in the search engines by describing how he added microformats to the site.  Why bother with them?  "They're valuable today, they'll be valuable tomorrow, and they're ridiculously easy to apply."  Keith helped us balance hotmail image problems in HTML emails in his post, which offered a simple fix to address the issue.   And who doesn't love simple solutions?

VigetEngage (Marketing)

Josh wonders if companies balance bug tracking by offering false advertising (of sorts) in "Liars!  Why Talking to Your Customers is So Important."  He's curious if companies like Microsoft actually receive requests for feedback like those that are prompted when their programs shut down unexpectedly, for example, or if those pop-ups are sent to the outer rings of cybernowhere.  What do you think?  Then, Steph details how one of our clients, SHAMBAUGH Leadership, has been leveraging email marketing for its corporate audience to drive traffic to their blog.  The tactic balances old school marketing with the new school, and for this client, it's working.

Hope you find your own balance on Sunday so you have time to call your mom.  Happy Mother's Day, mom!
