One perk at Viget is the opportunity to work closely with admirable clients from a wide range of industries. We're a passionate group of people, so we tend to get really into our work. Depending on the client, we might find ourselves laughing, learning, or searching more than usual. Even when I'm not involved directly, I get inspired by my colleagues and the projects they are talking about. In every case, I'm enlightened; but, when it comes to the pro bono work we do for the National Foundation for Teaching Entreprenuership (NFTE), I am left feeling especially inspired.Founded in 1987 by Steve Mariotti, NFTE runs a mini-MBA program to teach kids how to start and run real businesses themselves. More than 180,000 kids have completed the program with impressive results. We work with the Greater Washington (GW) chapter of NFTE and, in particular, we support their efforts to host an annual fundraising gala. This year, our support has come in the form of facilitating their email campaign in preparation for the gala. Over the past several years, our support of NFTE and their mission to improve the business, academic, and life skills of young people from low-income communities has taken different forms. We've been flexible and they've called on our diverse services as they see fit. Their commitment to young people, however, has been unwavering. It feels good to support an organization like NFTE; but, it is humbling to realize that our contribution is just one small piece of the elaborate puzzle that allows NFTE to succeed and young entrepreneurs to flourish. Entrepreneurship is dear to the hearts of Viget’s co-founders and it’s a trait we look for in applicants. We’re proud to promote NFTE GW’s educational programs and we understand that they are made possible to a large degree by the Dare 2 Dream Gala. In addition to showcasing NFTE students' business ideas, the event is a "who's who" of DC-area business leaders, not to mention a lot of fun. This year's gala's theme is “Fuel Your Ambition” and it will take place on Tuesday, May 6th at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC.
