Building for COVID-19 Webinar
Project Beacon has been a trusted partner for Massachusetts in the state’s response to COVID-19. Supported by Viget, Project Beacon helped launch two major digital tools for MA: an application for public testing sites, businesses, K-12 schools, and more, to manage the entire testing process, as well as a vaccine locator tool for the public. These two tools have helped facilitate over 500,000 tests and have seen tens of millions of site visitors.
Watch this panel discussion on how we built the applications, what challenges we faced, and what the future of the platform might hold.
During this panel, the team discusses:
- An overview of Project Beacon’s two main COVID-19 projects:
- A testing app for businesses, testing sites, and families to track the testing process, end-to-end
- A vaccine finder tool, which enables MA citizens to finds available vaccine appointments based on proximity
- Viget’s approach to building these tools quickly, ensuring iterative development and scalability
- How iterative and agile software design and development practices can facilitate shipping greenfield projects quickly and effectively.
